RAINFALL
A good rainfall month for the immediate Geelong district resulted in an average 63mm across the urban area and generally above average falls in the Bellarine Peninsula and Otways catchment. In contrast the Moorabool catchment once again suffered below average rains. Geelong had rain on 20 days, including 26.8mm on the 12th and 14.2mm on the 29th.Geelong’s water storages now stand at 61% of capacity, considerably less than at the same time last year (73%).
TEMPERATURE
Geelong’s mean temperature was 0.3 degrees above the long-term average. Mean daily minimum was 6.9 and mean maximum 17.2 degrees. The highest temperature was 25.9 on the 9th and the lowest overnight minimum was 2.0 degrees on the 1st.
OTHER FEATURES
There were 6 very windy days on which gusts surpassed 60 kph at Mt Duneed. On the 15th, a gust of 93kph was recorded and 80kph on the 17th. There were 3 thunder days which included an amazing light and sound show on the 9th.
