RAINFALL
Above average falls were received in February across virtually the whole of the Geelong region, according to Lindsay Smail of Geelong Weather Services. Around the district the highest falls recorded were at Modewarre which received 91.5 mm, and Teesdale (85.5 mm). The urban area average for the month was around 45 mm, compared to the February average for Geelong of 37.6 mm. Rain fell on eight days (six is normal for February) and on one occasion, the 12th, 44 mm fell at Leopold, and 49 mm at Modewarre, mainly in one heavy deluge. Serendip at Lara also received 41 mm on that day, more than its February average. On the other hand, Drysdale received only 25 mm for the month, the lowest in the region.
